About LHHS JROTC

The Langston Hughes High School JROTC program was established in the 2010-2011 school year under Principal Dr. Michael Robinson.

The program's mission is to motivate young people to be better citizen. The LHHS JROTC is a student led program. However, every program needs experienced and wise leaders. Our instructors:

LTC Austin Keaton, MSG Delana Woodson, and SFC Curtis Ricks

JROTC is fun, while it provides opportunities that can not be found in any other program. Students enrolled in JROTC have the benefit to overcome common obstacles in education, as well as the structure and discipline of the program. The program encounters improving life skills and developing personal responsibility. JROTC also promotes wellness and fitness. It also help cadets improve critical thinking skills. Our strong foundation is based of the Seven Army Values Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage.

In JROTC, we get involved in our school and our community; we are required to participate in Service Learning and Community Service Projects.
